An HMO project may involve licensing alone, planning permission for a change of use, Building Regulations or a combination of these. We start by establishing the property, proposed occupancy and what the council has requested.

Are HMO licensing and planning permission the same thing?
No. They are separate regimes, and a project may engage one or both. The relevant council information must be reviewed before the service is confirmed.
Can you add fire-safety information to the plans?
Relevant plan information can be included where agreed, but specialist fire strategy and fire-risk assessment services are separate unless expressly quoted.
Can the project be split into stages?
Yes. Survey, existing drawings, proposed drawings, planning or licensing information and later technical drawings can be scoped in clear stages.
